THE BEAUTY NOTES

A little more behind the bottle.

Where do you start with a serum?

Start with what you would like to add to your beauty moment. Perhaps you are curious about a texture to wear before cream, a product for the evening or simply something new to explore. Give that preference a clear name before opening several product pages.

Dew Veil, Silk Drop and Petal Milk each have their own place in this collection. A name is an introduction. The short description and the detail further down each page help you decide what interests you about the product. Select up to three and choose “See side by side” to bring those details together.

How do a serum and a cream fit into your shelf?

Separate the product that catches your eye from the step you actually want to add. A routine does not need every kind of product on the shelf. A serum may have a place in yours; deciding whether to include it starts with that particular product and what you already use.

The word “serum” does not, by itself, reveal a formula, its concentrations or its suitability for pairing with another product. Read the individual directions as well as the category name. If a cream is what you want to explore today, the moisturiser collection is another good place to begin.

What is useful to compare?

Read the introduction first. Do both products speak to the same preference? Then consider the price and the directions on each product page. Similar packaging does not make two products identical, and a price difference is only one part of your choice.

Our comparison brings together the name, description, collection, price and availability. Use it to narrow your selection, then open the individual page for more detail. You do not need to choose a winner for an entire shelf. Finding one product you want to understand better is a useful next step.

Curious about an ingredient name?

Turn to the ingredient list on the packaging. Further down this page, you can paste a list and explore the names our ingredient tool recognises. Open an explanation when something interests you, or keep your visit focused on the products.

A list of names is part of the picture. It does not provide every concentration, manufacturing condition or result of the finished formula. Our ingredient-list guide takes a closer look at the order and naming conventions of INCI when you want to learn more.

How do you make room for something new?

Look at what is already beside your sink: cleanser, cream, sun protection and perhaps a treatment with individual instructions. Knowing what you would like to change makes a new choice more purposeful than replacing everything together.

For order, frequency and quantity, use the directions for the particular product. Serums do not all share the same instructions. If you use a prescription treatment or have advice from your dermatologist, keep that guidance in the conversation when considering something new.

What is worth keeping after you choose?

Remember the name that caught your attention and the detail you liked about it. That makes a later comparison easier than remembering the colour of a bottle alone. You can also use a familiar product as a starting point and ask what you would enjoy changing next time.

Your next beauty choice can be small and specific: one product to explore, one moment to make room for. A little glam can live in those details.

What can’t a list tell you?

Explore common ingredient roles here. Names alone do not reveal concentration, absorption depth, personal suitability or finished-product results. Short- and long-term results need testing of the specific formula. Identifying fragrance is not an allergy test.
